  2.          Before installing VERIFIX 4.01 you *MUST* read this file!
  3.  
  4. After trying VERIFIX I'm convinced that you find it to be "The New Standard
  5. In Call Back Verification!"
  6.  
  7. BoardWatch magazine has a top  100  list  of  the BEST BBSs list.   Wildcat
  8. SysOps found in that list ARE USING VERIFIX!
  9.  
  10. Please note: The program POSTMSTR.ZIP is NOT found in this .zip file.  This
  11. utility is used to send messages to the user and  to  the  sysop.    Please
  12. download  it  from the support BBS or from the CatHouse BBS (Mustang's BBS)
  13. if you wish to write messages to the user!

  15. Unregistered users:
  16. You must call the support BBS at 215-968-4998,  go to  the  main  menu  and
  17. choose  [E]...create dEmo key.   This will get you a 45 day demo key.   The
  18. entire process takes less than 1 minute,  so the toll charges are  MINIMAL.
  19. It is worth it!
  20.          
  21. If  you  belong  to fidonet,  send me a netmail message with your first and
  22. last name,   address,   voice  and  bbs  phone  numbers,   AND YOUR WILDCAT
  23. REGISTRATION NUMBER!  I will create a key for you and put it on hold.   You
  24. can then poll me the next day to pick up your 45 day demo key.   My fidonet
  25. node address is 1:273/215

  28. - Users running verifix 4.0, upgrading to verifix 4.01:
  29.  
  30. 1.    Unzip   all   the  files  found  in  VERIFIX.ZIP  into  your  verifix
  31. subdirectory.
  32.  
  33. 2.  Next you  must  run  the  file  CVT4-401.EXE.    This will convert your
  34. VERIFIX.CFG file to the new format.    I  added  new  features,   thus  the
  35. configuration file changed again.
  36.  
  37. 3.   Run  VCONFIG.EXE  and  look  through  all  the  fields  to  make  sure
  38. everything got converted OK.   While you are in vconfig,   go  to  the  new
  39. fields that have been added and change them according to what you want.
  40.  
  41. 4.  If you are going to use the Auto Upgrade feature, you'll need to either
  42. extract  the AUTOUP.BBS screen out of the display.zip file,  or create your
  43. own.

  45. 5.  That is it.   Please  read  the documentation file and the WHATSNEW.401
  46. file to see what else has been added!

  49. - Users upgrading from VERIFIX version 3.01 or lower to version 4.01
  50.  
  51. 1.  Unzip VERIFIX.ZIP into your verifix subdirectory.
  52.  
  53. 2.   The  entire  VERIFIX.CFG file has been changed.   You MUST delete this
  54. file, then run VCONFIG to reconfigure verifix.
  55.  
  56. 3.  Verifix now uses .BBS files just like wildcat does.   You should change
  57. your display files (.SCR) accordingly.

  59. 4.  Read VERIFIX.DOC for all the new features and changes.
